LDL cholesterol is one of three fats that make up a total cholesterol count. The other two fats are HDL cholesterol and triglycerides.
LDL cholesterol is commonly known as the "bad" cholesterol. Of the different types of cholesterol tests, doctors primarily use the LDL cholesterol level to guide advice and therapy for people who have heart disease or have an increased risk of heart disease.

My LDL level is less than 70 mg/dL.
My LDL cholesterol is between 70 and 99 mg/dL.
