HDL Cholesterol Blood Test

Welcome to our HDL cholesterol test result interpreter. You will need the result of your HDL cholesterol test. If you don't know your HDL test result, contact your doctor's office to find out what it is. Then, come back here!

HDL cholesterol is one of three fats that make up a total cholesterol count. The other two fats are LDL cholesterol and triglycerides.

HDL cholesterol is called the "good" cholesterol because higher values of HDL correlate with less risk of heart disease. Low HDL does just the opposite. A low HDL cholesterol means your risk of heart disease is higher than average.
